The Canada Caribbean Business Council is a membership, not for
profit, organization that facilitates projects, links and advocacy for
Canadian - Caribbean business aimed at expanding two-way trade,
investment and economic development between Canada and the Caribbean.
As an advocacy group, The CCBC provides programs and services to raise
the profile and strengthen the competitiveness of Canadian - Caribbean
businesses.
The organization is in the process of charting its course for the next
five years, with a large focus on establishing a Secretariat to deliver
its programs and services to members and establishing key connections
with Caribbean and Canadian agencies with which it will have a mutually
beneficial relationship.
Through its programs and services the CCBC:
- Provides a platform for Canadian companies interested in doing
business with the Caribbean by assisting with market research or
linkages with Caribbean entrepreneurs and agencies.
- Serves as an advocacy group, addressing constraints to two-way
trade and investment, with Canadian and Caribbean governments and
agencies.
- Raises the profile of Caribbean entrepreneurs in Canada and awards
companies and individuals that demonstrate excellence.
- Promotes Canadian / Caribbean companies that are success stories,
using them as role models for young Canadian / Caribbean entrepreneurs
through an internship program.
- Offers professional development programs and technical assistance
to help improve the management, leadership skills, productivity and
competitiveness of its members and affiliates in the Caribbean.
- Assists and recognizes small businesses through education and
awards.
